DVD BULLIT DVD San Francisco ist im Laufe
der Jahre schon oft der Schauplatz atemberaubender
Autoverfolgungsjagden in Filmen gewesen, doch
dieser Thriller aus dem Jahr 1968 muss erst einmal
geschlagen werden, wenn es um Bleifuß Action über
die steilen Hügel der Stadt mit der Golden Gate
Bridge geht. Die außerordentliche
Verfolgungssequenz erhielt den Oscar für den
besten Schnitt, doch auch der Rest des Films ist
wirklich gut. Bullitt ist das perfekte Starvehikel
für einen coolen Burschen wie Steve McQueen
(Getaway, Das Kanonenboot am Yangtse Kiang), der
hier einen zähen und beharrlichen Polizeiermittler
spielt dessen Auftrag es ist, die Mörder des
Kronzeugen in einem wichtigen Gerichtsverfahren
aufzuspüren. Regisseur Peter Yates (Die Tiefe,
Krull) ging an die Geschichte mit der Betonung
absoluter Authentizität heran und drehte an
unterschiedlichen Originalschauplätzen in San
Francisco. Jacqueline Bisset (Mord im
Orient-Express, Airport) und Robert Duvall (Nur
noch 60 Sekunden, Tage des Donners) sind in frühen
Rollen zu sehen und Robert Vaughn (Solo Für
O.N.K.E.L., Die glorreichen Sieben) mimt die
kriminelle Hauptperson, die all die tödlichen
Fäden dieser verwickelten Handlung in den Händen
hält. Ein MUSS für jeden Mustang FAN !
